Lowe Art Museum, art from all walks of life

Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami's art museum, undoubtedly holds one of South Florida's largest collections with around 17,500 objects.

Founded in 1950, Lowe Art Museum is home to an enormous and varied collection ranging from the Greek Antiquity to 20th century works through the American art of the first Indians.
Works come from all continents. In the section dedicated to the West, discover several masterpieces from Europe's Renaissance and Baroque periods; then head to America with its 2,000 artistic productions from the 19th and 20th century. In the Asia department, admire the many ceramics, paintings and sculptures, whether Chinese, Korean or Japanese, before taking a long detour through the Africa and Oceania area.
On the modern art side, you will not be disappointed with works from artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Joan Miró as well as older works that have already risen to the ranks of the “great classics”, including those of Gauguin and Monet…
